Throughout his career, Alonzo has remained committed to student success and creating inclusive, high-performing school environments. As a Principal, he led efforts that significantly improved student performance, and as a Vice Principal, he successfully reduced suspension rates by introducing restorative practices. He previously served as a Student Affairs Officer, where he oversaw district-wide discipline hearings and supported staff development. Currently, as Dean of Students, Alonzo provides leadership in student discipline, staff development, and critical support services for at-risk scholars and families.

 

Beyond the school building, Alonzo serves on the ERIE21 Advisory Board at Le Moyne College,

contributing to initiatives that bridge the talent gap in STEAM and combat generational poverty.

His leadership is marked by a talent for building strong educator teams, fostering community

partnerships, and aligning resources to advance educational equity. His experience as a

Freedom Schools Site Coordinator in Charlotte, North Carolina, deepened his understanding of

grassroots educational movements and their transformative impact on communities.

 

Alonzo holds a BS in Mathematics from Florida A&M University and an MA in Educational

Leadership from Gardner-Webb University. He is a firm believer that student outcomes are

directly linked to the commitment and capacity of educators, supported by intentional use of

data and resources. Alonzo continues to champion leadership development, community

engagement, and systems-level change in education.
