Alonzo E. Graham is an educational leader, community builder, and nonprofit executive dedicated to creating opportunities for young people to thrive. With more than two decades of experience in education, he has served in classroom, school leadership, and student services roles, always believing that strong relationships, high expectations, and equitable opportunities are the foundation of lasting student success.

 

As a Principal, Vice Principal, Dean of Students, and Student Affairs leader, Alonzo has led school improvement efforts that strengthened school culture, increased student achievement, reduced disciplinary incidents through restorative practices, and expanded support systems for students and families. His leadership is rooted in developing people, building partnerships, and creating environments where every child feels seen, valued, and empowered to succeed.

 

Today, Alonzo is the Founder and Executive Director of FreedomCuse Partners Inc., where he is leading the effort to bring the Children's Defense Fund Freedom Schools model to Syracuse. His vision is to build a movement that advances literacy, develops young leaders, strengthens families, and creates lasting community impact through education and collaboration.

 

Alonzo also serves on the ERIE21 Advisory Board at Le Moyne College and previously spent three summers as a Children's Defense Fund Freedom Schools Site Coordinator in Charlotte, North Carolina—an experience that reinforced his belief in the transformative power of literacy, servant leadership, and grassroots community engagement. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Florida A&M University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University.
